3D cameras solve problems that 2D cannot close. Depth helps when height, shape, or placement matters. A 3D view also supports picking tasks when parts sit in random positions.

Qubotix supplies Line Laser 3D Cameras and 3D Laser Profile Sensors for production inspection tasks that need reliable depth data. Line laser cameras project a laser line across the part and capture a point cloud as the part moves — suitable for surface shape, height deviation, and gap checks. Profile sensors measure contour at fixed cross-sections and deliver consistent edge and depth readings at high throughput. Both options integrate with robot controllers and PLCs for automated decision-making.
