Reverse Engineering
Bring physical reality into the digital world — accurate, parametric, manufacturable.
Overview
Reverse engineering helps when CAD is missing or when drawings stop matching the real part. The workflow starts with scan data and ends with an editable CAD model that engineering can use for machining, redesign, and inspection.
From legacy components with no surviving drawings to complex organic surfaces, our engineers know how to recover design intent and build models that work. Every reverse engineered model is validated against the original scan data within specified tolerances before delivery.
Key Features & Capabilities
Rebuild usable CAD from a physical part and reduce dependency on old drawings using tools such as Geomagic Design X
Create feature-based solid models that stay editable, so design changes do not force a full rebuild
Convert freeform and blended surfaces into clean CAD surfaces that match the real part closely
Check the new CAD against the scan early and confirm accuracy before release or machining
Hand over models in formats that fit existing CAD workflows and reduce friction for engineering teams
Update CAD when vendor parts change and lock one clean baseline for future batches
Reduce tooling iteration by validating the model before cutting metal and before fixtures go for production
