Carton Transfer Unit

Overview

A carton transfer unit focuses on carton or tote movement and supports multi-carton transfer in one trip. It suits picking and transfer workflows that need high throughput between racks and workstations.

Carton transfer units address the throughput gap in manual carton picking operations. Instead of a person walking to each shelf location, a CTU retrieves cartons from storage and brings them to a fixed picking workstation. Multiple cartons can be carried per trip, reducing the number of vehicle movements needed. Docking capabilities allow cartons to be transferred directly to connected lines or machines. Goods-to-person workflows improve picking speed significantly and increase storage utilisation because storage density can be increased when human access aisles are no longer required.
